I figured I’d make a list of a few things I have noticed since debranding my C905a.

FIRST and foremost, WiFi is back and VERY nice!! “Menu” > “Setting” > “Connectivity” > “Wi-Fi” brings you to the Wifi menu where you can do a usual search for local hosts or go to “Options” and choose from “Search by name”, Connection status”, “Manual setup”, “My MAC address” and “power save”…. very cool stuff!! I mention this first because it goes hand in hand witht the Email which you can set up for PoP or IMAP… makes sending full size images and video much better….

Second (at least for me) is the restoration of RSS feeds… in the “media” section “Web Feeds” gets its own place and you can not only pick the “usual” sort of updates (Every hour, twice a day, Once a day or Once a week) but you can also select specific times for it to update…. VERY NICE feature for those of you who (like me) enjoy following texts from last night or FmyLife…. LOL

Next…. FREE GAMES…. NOT TRIALS…. FULL GAMES. Chess, Need for Speed and Tennis (multi player support) are included.

Also, the “Smile” shutter is back…. I personally don’t care about this but I’ve been reading that lots of others do… so figured I’d mention it.

Another not so biggie but kind of nice is FULL LENGTH MP3 support for ring tones….

Okay.. now on to the “honorable mention” stuff :smileyhappy:

1- Center key brings you to the “Menu” now and not “MEdiaNet”…

2- When viewing an image, if you push “up” on the control pad you have four options now “As message”, “As email” (really nice), “To Website” (which Picasa is included), and via BlueTooth.

3- You can actually turn off “3G”…. provides slightly improved battery life.

4- Google maps is included (although sadly without support of latitude) and the GPS works with the installed app (v2.3.1)

Okay… now for a few things I don’t like…. some are a result of debranding, some not (in no particular order).

Ringtones and alarms are not very loud

No “silent” option for shutter sound (not even when phone is placed in silent mode.

No ability to force the flash to fire as a “fill flash” with every picture(only “auto”, “red eye” and “none”:smileywink:… this would be nice for outdoor daylight portraits or macro.

I have been an avid user of Nokia N-Series phones for a while now, including the N95, N85, and most recently the N97. These phones have everything and the kitchen sink as far as specs and features go, and I had simply grown too accustomed to using them for just about everything in life. “Decent” camera with flash? Check. GPS turn-by-turn directions? Check. Organizer? Check. Personal e-mail? Check. Work e-mail and calendar sync? Check. Tethering to share its data connection while on the road? Check. Multitasking? Check. Music player, FM Tuner, Podcasting, Internet Radio? Check, Check, Check, Check. Then there are the more esoteric features, such as Nokia Sports Tracker (to record your route, speed, distance etc as you go jogging, biking, etc), TV-Out cable and Bluetooth keyboard support (to use it for basic Internet access from your living room), Speech Synthesis to read your messages and e-mail out loud while driving, and so on. I simply could not see myself “downgrading” to anything else…

If you have used Sony Ericsson (SE) Phones you probably are aware about their easy well thought out interface that is very sleek and colorful. C905a, had everything you’ve seen in the recent SE phones and it betters with the cool camera utilities and Xenon flash makes the indoor photos worthwile to keep forever unlike the one’s we take with other camera phones to only delete it soon…

I have only had my phone for a little over a week (new T-mobile service). I have found the phone to be easy to navigate and customize. Call clarity is excellent. Display is beautiful (bright, vivid colors). I am waiting on my data cable to arrive, so haven’t tried the music player yet. However I have bluetoothed files back and forth with my kids (a new experience for me) – which is my temp way around not having the data cable. Battery life is so-so. My Katana (Sprint service) seemed to go a little longer between charges. However, I have been using the phone heavily as I test it out; under normal circumstances my phone has fair to moderate use (primarily texting).

I’ve had this phone for a month, so enough time to offer an adequate assessment. From experience with Sony-Ericsson and Motorola phones, this is the most elegant and most capable phone I’ve owned so far. It is solidly built, looks and feels good in the hand, and the sound quality leaves competition in the dust. There are some low reviews of this phone, some claiming cheap construction. I’d guess those were written by the competition because this phone is more solid than my Moto RAZR and the sound quality kicks the RAZR to the scrap heap.

I’ve owned several Motorola phones in the past and was hesitant to switch to a Sony Ericsson. Since I was going to be stuck with `this’ phone for the next 2-years, I spent a good amount of time researching several phones (LG, Motorola, SE, Iphone, and Samsung) and found this one was prefect. CNET gives it a very high rating!! (BTW-I would have loved to get the IPhone but I didn’t want to pay the extra monthly service charges the phone requires and as a `phone’ it is quite large to carry around.)

I am using my Sony Erickson card with my t-mobile service to write this review. So, how is it working out? Hmmm….

Okay, so the card cost me $200 (I did not get a free one – if I had perhaps I would like it more). In my job I need constant available internet access, so I broke down and invested in this. It works. You can get internet access anywhere you can get cellular signal. The antennae is all but useless (it keeps falling off due to poor design) but the card works about 80+% as well without the hassle of the antennae anyway, so it is a wash. Reception is very good, and even when you have 2 (out of 5) bars, you can keep working. One [red] bar is pretty much death. You might get Google or some other easy-to-load website, but that’s about it.

I got this phone for free when I added a line to an existing account. I went to the AT&T store and they said it would be 60 bucks or something, but then I told them it was free online, so they gave me the online price.

I own the white version of this phone. The phone is very thin (they advertise it to be the thinnest flip phone on the market), and has a long, somewhat odd shape, but I got used to that very quickly…more…

As far as it’s functionality as a phone goes, it works perfectly. It has all the functions you would expect from a cell phone. 9 speed-dials, upto 750 contacts (500 in the phone, 250 in the SmartChip SIM card), last calls made, missed calls, received calls, etc. There is a speakerphone function, which works great. It’s just as clear as any other call you would make. I know it’s not necessary for the average cellphone user, but there are times when it can be convenient.
